The following information applies to ALL delegates:
This Competition is open. You will not be divided into Marital Divisions All Titles Must be pre-approved by home office.
Each delegate must be actively involved in a business. Be it Inc., LLC, Sole Proprietor or Network Marketing/MLM business.
Each delegate must be born female.
Each delegate must be a citizen of the United States.
Age is determined by November 01, 2016.
ALL delegates are considered as an At-Large Delegate and are eligible to participate as long as you have the following one of the following ties to a city or state: own a business in, you live in, were born in, hold property in, work in, went to school in or have family ties to.
Wells Industries, LLC reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant with or without cause.
Women In Business ELITE TITLE : Is Overall high-point score. The title of Women In Business Elite may only be awarded to the contestant who has the highest overall score.
Personal Interview Details:
Each contestant participates in an individual interview with a panel of judges. There are typically 3-5 judges on a panel. Interview will begin with a self-introduction not to exceed 30 seconds. Immediately following the introduction you will take your seat. The body of the interview will be a combination of questions from information given on your judge’s fact sheet as well as current events. The current events could be anything from politics and war to reality TV questions. Judges may also question you about your cause/platform/charity. The timekeeper will call time, at that time the interview concludes with you completing your final thought. This is your opportunity to let the judges get to know you. The judging will emphasize your poise in handling the questions and how well you articulate your beliefs on the issue, not the position you take.
Interview Attire: Interview is about being yourself and displaying your beauty and business knowledge to a panel of judges. Whatever you decide to wear should represent you and your personality to the best of its ability. A more conservative look would be a well-tailored suit. A trendier look would be a tailored business dress. Both are reasonable and appropriate for WIBP. Never fret ladies, just remember to keep your heels, head, and standards HIGH!
Scoring: Personal Interview accounts for 50% of the total score. The judges’ decision is final.
Business Showcase Details:
Each contestant will have an opportunity to showcase/present their business before the judges/audience. The contestant would have 2-3 minutes to introduce and present their business. Contestant will have the option to present their business, a product or service and/or opportunity. Keep in mind your business presentation should showcase you and your business in the best possible manner. Props are encouraged. This is the perfect opportunity for you and your business to shine.
Business Showcase Attire: Contestant attire should be expressive of the business they are presenting. Examples: If you are presenting your law business an ensemble befitting court would be appropriate. If you are a personal trainer, athletic wear would be a great choice. Please keep in mind the judges will be focusing on your overall presentation. Personal grooming is an extension of the presentation.
Scoring: Business Showcase accounts for 25% of the total score.
Evening Gown Competition Details:
The contestant’s entire look and stage presence is taken into consideration. The judges are not judging you on style and cost of gown. The judges are looking for: overall first impression, sense of confidence, walk, posture, carriage and grace, personality, stage presence, beauty and sense of attractiveness, and appropriateness of the evening wear. Floor length. (It may have a high-low hemline. We encourage foundational pieces to minimize jiggle and wiggle.) The color should contrast as well as compliment your skin tone.
Scoring: Evening Gown accounts for 20% of the total score.
Photogenic Competition Details: Photogenic will be judged on the photo submitted during photo call time. Please submit one head shot. Photo must be submitted at 300 DPI. Photo may be color or black & white. Photos should be professional but not a glamour shot or overly enhanced or air brushed photo. Pictures are scored on a scale of (1-5) in the areas of: Clarity, Photogenic Talent, Expression and Overall Appearance.
Scoring: Photogenic accounts for 5% of the total score.
Delegates Code of Conduct
As representative of The Women In Business Showcase, all titleholders agree to the following requirements and guidelines for conduct during her reign.
I will not participate in harmful, malicious, inflammatory, defaming or slanderous speech towards The Women In Business Showcase, Wells Industries, its affiliates, assignees, any of the staff member, or sponsor, whether it be oral, written, or otherwise disclosed during my reign, as well as after the pageant.
I will NOT consume and/or use alcohol and/or illegal drugs while participating in any function or event (unless sanctioned by Urso Industries) from the beginning of my reign until the end of my reign while representing the Women In Business Pageant. Doing so will result in automatic relinquishment of my title and dismissal from the WIB Pageant system.
I will not make any appearance as a delegate or queen with tattoos visible to the public eye, out of respect for my crown and sash.
I will remember that social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, LinkedIn as well as any other internet website(s) or web page(s) is considered a reflection on me as a titleholder and the Women In Business Pageant System. All sexually suggestive photos and verbally offensive and/or explicit comments must be removed during my reign. Examples of such material include but are not limited to:
• Photos of delegate in undergarments or any garment that could be mistaken as an undergarment. • Photos of delegate which place emphasis on or expose all or part of the chest or buttocks area. • Text, graphics or photos which are insulting to an individual or group of individuals. • Text, graphics or photos which contains inflammatory comments.
You agree to adhere with any request, which may be made by The Women In Business Pageant and Urso Industries, to promptly remove any material which The Women In Business and Urso Industries may regard as uncouth, unbecoming or inappropriate. The Women In Business Pageant and Urso Industries retain exclusive discretion in these occurrences.
I understand that the Women In Business Showcase is a family organization and I am a member of that family; keeping this in mind I will not participate in harmful, malicious or slanderous speech or gossip, written or spoken, toward the Women In Business Showcase, fellow delegates and/or affiliates of The Women In Business Pageant.
I understand they my title is the property of the Women In Business Showcase and Wells Industries, and that I may not register any document, email address, website name, webpage name, forum registration or other publicly viewed or accessible print, video or other media without complying with the following criteria:
• I will include a year designation of at least 2 digits such as “Miss Women In Business ‘16” • I may use a year designation of 4 digits such as: “Ms. Women In Business 2016” • For an email or website I will include a year designation of at least 2 digits such as firstname.lastname@example.org
• Any exceptions to this rule must be requested directly from The Women In Business Showcase and Wells Industries.
WOMEN IN BUSINESS SHOWCASE in Conjunction with Wells Industries Film, Television, Radio, Internet Media by third party production companies
Wells Industries and The Women In Business Showcase may permit outside production companies and/or news/entertainment organizations to interview and record delegates during the course of their reign, competition and beyond. Many times these entities require their own release forms to be signed. The delegate is solely responsible for making the decision of participating or not participating in such filming or interviews and the delegate is solely responsible for making the decision to sign or not sign any agreements presented by the Production Company or organization. Whether or not the delegate chooses to participate has no impact or effect on their competition or the outcome of the competition. Urso Industries and The Women In Business Pageant will not accept the responsibility for deciding what you deem appropriate or acceptable to be filmed and/or aired on cable or television. If you decide to participate in filming or interviews, you hereby agree to hold Urso Industries and The Women In Business Pageant harmless against any claims or damages both real and perceived as result of your signing such agreements. Make certain you understand the document since you are accepting the sole responsibility for your participation.
By signing this document I affirm that I will/do comply with all conditions stated herein. I understand that any violations of the terms and conditions contained herein may result in my dismissal and disqualification as a delegate and I understand that I will hold The Women In Business Showcase and Wells Industries, its affiliates or assignees harmless against any damages or losses I might incur as a result of my failure to comply with the terms and conditions contained herein. I also understand that any false statements made to The Women In Business Pageant and Wells Industries may result in my dismissal and disqualification as a delegate and I understand that I agree to hold The Women In Business Showcase, Wells Industries, its affiliates or assignees harmless against any losses I may incur as a result of my failure to comply with the terms and conditions herein.
I agree to return the Crown and Banner, if I am unable to complete my reign by either by my choosing, extenuating circumstance(s) or as a result of dismissal or disqualification. I understand that if I do not return my Crown and Banner I will be held responsible for the full retail price of the Crown and Banner at the time it was originally purchased, as well as any legal fees or other expenses incurred by The Women In Business Pageant and Urso Industries in an attempt to recover the Crown and Banner or their stated value.
I understand that if I am signing this agreement as a titled delegate, this agreement is valid and continues to be enforceable if I win the competition. Item number 1 of the conduct requirements portion of this agreement will survive and remain in force after my reign or competition is completed.
